An oasis from our busy lives, Chemers Gallery strives to enhance and nurture the soul through the arts and community. The tradition started with owner, Karen Raab’s mother, Rita Chemers back when the gallery opened as “Artistic i” in 1978.
Chemers Gallery boasts an array of more than 200 local, national and international artists ranging from fine to decorative art and contemporary crafts including jewelry, art glass and ceramics. Karen is always searching for unique new work for the gallery’s valued clientele.
With the finest selection of custom framing in Orange County, Chemers Gallery’s on-site framers treat artwork with care whether purchased at the gallery, clients’ own art or family heirlooms. Choose from over 2000 frame styles ranging from hand-carved to eco-conscious. Other services include corporate and residential consultations, appraisal, restoration, and installation.
Opening the gallery for the benefit of community organizations is a priority. It is a great venue for lectures and community art shows. The gallery’s most anticipated event is their annual Children’s Book Illustration Art Show & Book Signing. Benefiting local children’s organizations for the last 19 years, Chemers Gallery showcases award-winning illustrators attracting the young and young at heart. This year’s event is December 4th and benefits Ronald McDonald House.
Clients often describe Chemers Gallery as warm and inviting. The welcoming staff is a key component to the gallery’s ambience. Meticulous head framer, Robert, has 15 years at Chemers Gallery. Cathy, with the gallery for 9 years, creates the informative email blasts. For 3 years, Jennifer has keenly written the weekly blog.
